She is currently a student at Kennesaw State University studying music education and tuba\u00a0under <a title=\"Bernard Flythe\" href=\"http:\/\/theflythegroup.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bernard Flythe<\/a>. She has been involved in master classes with professional tuba players such\u00a0as <a title=\"Gene Pokorny\" href=\"http:\/\/cso.org\/About\/Performers\/Performer.aspx?id=3224\" target=\"_blank\">Gene Pokorny<\/a> of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and<a title=\"Alan Baer\" href=\"http:\/\/baertracksmusic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Alan Baer<\/a> of the New York Philharmonic\u00a0Orchestra. She also attended the <a title=\"National Brass Symposium\" href=\"http:\/\/brasssymposium.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">National Brass Symposium<\/a> in 2012 and worked with <a title=\"Mike Roylance\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cfa\/music\/faculty\/roylance\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mike Roylance<\/a>\u00a0of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and <a title=\"Dennis Nulty\" href=\"http:\/\/dso.org\/page.aspx?page_id=616\" target=\"_blank\">Dennis Nulty<\/a> of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Melinda was\u00a0recently chosen as a finalist for the 2013 KSU Concerto Competition.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Mason\u2019s teaching experiences include tuba sectionals at Kennesaw Mountain High School and\u00a0Lakeside High School.
